AIRPORT
We recommend that you fly into Split Airport (SPU). Customs is generally very quick and the airport is very modern, clean, bright and easy to navigate.
If you depart America on Saturday and arrive in Split on Sunday, we will be there to help organize a fun night out & a Monday charter boat from Split to Hvar.
If you arrive in Split at another time, it is very easy to travel from the airport to the ferry dock! The best and easiest way is an Uber (it is a fixed cost of ≈$25). You can also take a taxi from the taxi stand (fixed cost of ≈ $30).
FLIGHTS
Here's a handy list of flight booking tips from Travel Agent Joe:
1) For the best prices/most options, book airfare now. Fares are predicted to rise for summer, so get ready to jetset!
2) To book European air travel, I recommend using www.kiwi.com
This is the best travel search engine for Europe. I've routinely found this to show the cheapest and best options for our European travel.
Kiwi also allows you to search train and other modes of transport, which is great if you're doing a Eurotrip across multiple destinations. (If you want to go wild and cross-reference all the fares, you can also check other sites including www.goeuro.com,www.google.com/flights, www.cheapoair.com or www.kayak.com)
3) You will stop in another European city on the way into Split (there are not direct flights from America). You can fly directly to Split from Barcelona, Paris, London, Naples, Dublin, Frankfurt, etc. etc. etc.
You can also explore some of those insanely cheap flight deals to European cities and book a separate puddlejumper to Split. This could be a quick layover or an opportunity to explore another city for a weekend. Choose your own adventure!
4) You CAN book One-Way flights to get better pricing and flight options.(It’s a myth that you need to buy round trips to save $).

THE FERRY
The catamaran ferry ride takes about 60 minutes, costs about $30 and is very comfortable (a/c, etc).
There are a dozen catamaran ferries each day from Split Port to Hvar Town (see schedule below). In the summer, the ferries might be fully booked at departure, so we recommend ordering your tickets online a few days in advance (don't worry - we will remind you about this in June). Note: Do not take a ferry to Stari Grad. It is another town on Hvar & an expensive/long cab ride away from your intended destination.
If you prefer a private transfer (because you're fancy or because your flight gets in too late for the last ferry) those can be arranged for ≈$300). These boats hold up to 12+ people, so it's a reasonable option for a group. We have a great boat guy we can put you in touch with.
If you want a porter to meet your ferry and help carry your luggage to your accommodations, our travel agent Tea can help you arrange that (her email is info@hvarpoint.com).

ACCOMMODATIONS
SLEEP... We’ve all got to do it (even in Croatia!) If you haven't booked accommodations yet, now is the time! Our biggest/only recommendation: Stay somewhere CLOSE IN to the center of Hvar Town. (For max. convenience, we would recommend not more than a 10 or 15-minute walk to Central Park Club.)
OUR BOOKING RECS:
AIRBNB & BOOKING.COM:
Airbnb and Booking.com are both HUGE on Hvar. These are generally awesome options and we highly recommend booking through Airbnb or Booking.com. We’ve scanned the options and made a list of places that we think seem well-located and comfy. Several of these are meant as shared options for multiple (3+) people, so head to the FB Group to find some roomies! (Please read the listings carefully, think about your own personal preferences and don't rely solely on our quick scan!)
